Kate has two BA Honours Degrees, one in Communication Arts Studies with Media and Performance with a Music Specialism, the other in Business and Management.
Kate wrote the original proposal for the 5 Senses Expressive Arts and Education Centre and in September 2004 she was given the opportunity to put her vision into action.
Kate has managed the 5 Senses since its inception in 2004.
I joined the 5 Senses team in November 2013.
I have an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care and NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care, First Line Management qualification, ECDL, and I am currently working towards my Leadership and Management Award.
Before coming to 5 Senses I worked at Avocet Trust for 16 years, initially as a support worker but the latter 6 years in a Registered Manager position. I managed residential services for adults with profound physical disabilities and learning difficulties, with twelve to sixteen service users. I have a commitment to providing good quality care to people who use our services, and being a part of helping them to reach their goals and fulfil their hopes and dreams.
I was offered an opportunity to join 5 Senses for two years, which I took in anticipation, but of which I am really enjoying. It’s always a privilege to work with such an inspiring client group.
